From Architecture in Madrid to
UX design in Copenhagen

I always wanted to become an Architect because I found skyscrapers fascinating. I managed to get into Architecture school in my hometown Madrid, and I studied and worked so hard for many years. I also had the opportunity to go abroad and study 1 year in the Architecture school of Venice.

While I was working on my thesis, I started working in an Architecture studio that designed mostly hospitals. It was super interesting talking to the doctors and figure out how each room should be, the width of the corridors for the beds to fit, the materials we could use for the patients to feel comfortable, etc. But after 3 years I realized I was missing something…

I discover UX design almost by mistake and I figured out that it was what I was looking for, so I took a bootcamp in UX and moved to Copenhagen in April 2018.

And since 2018 I have been working as a UX designer in Copenhagen. In all these years I learned how it is to be an immigrant, how English became my first language, and how I keep struggling with the Danish language nowadays.

Now that I have been here for many years I have established new routines. You can find my running around the canals, trying cardamom buns from every bakery, buying gadgets for my home, at a summer festival or reading local newspapers on my phone about Copenhagen’s new buildings or areas.
